The Provide CPR course would benefit anyone wanting to learn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in an emergency situation. The course provides you with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely perform CPR and manage an emergency situation in the community or workplace until relieved by medical personnel.
Age Requirement:
Students must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirement
The HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation Unit of Competency standard requires a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. Students must be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR for an extended period of time. Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with duty of care, does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance standard, it is not appropriate to issue a statement of attainment to learners who are physically unable to meet the assessment requirements.
Pre-requisite Requirement:
Prior to attending the course, students are sent a link to complete online learning and assessment. This must be completed prior to attending the practical session unless there are extenuating circumstances.
