Age Requirement:
Students must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirement
Standard requires a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. Learners undertaking this unit should have the physical capacity to safely perform manual handling tasks commonly required in healthcare and community services settings. This may include:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods
• Capacity to lift, lower, push, pull, and carry loads safely
• Ability to assist with moving or repositioning clients using correct techniques
• Sufficient upper and lower body strength to perform manual tasks
• Ability to use manual handling equipment (e.g. slide sheets, hoists, transfer belts)
• Good balance, coordination, and mobility
• Ability to follow safe work practices to reduce risk of injury
Pre-requisite Requirement:
Prior to attending the course, students are sent a link to complete online learning and assessment. This must be completed prior to attending the practical session unless there are extenuating circumstances. In this situation, the student must advise the Trainer and Assessor on arrival to the practical session.

Learning All applicants can apply for credit transfer of units that they have already been issued with from another RTO. Additionally, they may wish to apply for recognition of prior learning gained form their past formal and informal learning pathway from other training, work or life experience.
